Update on Animals

As you can see from the feature photo, Blue and Babe are recovering nicely. They are eating well and gaining weight because really, all they do is eat and sleep. I had plans on opening their cage to allow them to move around a bit but a call came in and at 2am today (Saturday, Feb 8th) a juvenile cottontail rabbit arrived in need of care.

Stanley has an injurred eye and was declining very rapidly. I kept watch over him throughout the night just trying to get him to stay warm to bring his body temperature back up. It is back to normal today so I set to the task of cleaning up his eye and fur

Stanley after a feeding of pureed apple, blueberry and spinach and a quick bath

It will be a long road ahead for this little guy, but thanks to the quick thinking and care of a postal worker on her route in Waite Park, the pureed food sent by Roseanne from our Amazon wish list and the single dose of Saline donated by Angela, this young rabbit has a better chance of survival.

Never think that a small donation doesn’t help. It may mean the difference between life and death any number of animals. Thank you for all of your support! Visit our How You Can Help page to find out ways to lend a hand.

  1. So very heartwarming to see this! Thank you for all your hard work with the animals! Spending money is the easy part, the much more difficult part is getting those calls and keeping watch for all those long hours. I sure wish the very best for this little bunny.❤️🐰
